ABOUT the Hairfarmers: Whistler’s Favourite Band Since 2001

Born during the 1999–2000 ski season, The Hairfarmers have become a legendary West Coast band known for their genre-defying live shows and infectious energy. Their signature “ski bum” style blends everything from Johnny Cash to Jimi Hendrix, U2 to Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan to Taylor Swift. With a repertoire of over 2,500 songs spanning rock, folk, bluegrass, reggae, country, and pop, there’s virtually nothing they won’t play—and no two shows are ever the same. The band has performed to audiences across the globe ranging in numbers from 40 to 40,000—from Maui to Hong Kong, Napa to New York—and have shared stages with acts like Tom Cochrane, The Wailers, Chantal Kreviazuk, Great Big Sea, and more. Highlights include appearances at the Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival, Kokanee
Summit Party, War Child Benefit, and a landmark performance at the 2008 Pemberton
Music Festival alongside Coldplay, Tom Petty, and The Tragically Hip. Voted Whistler’s Favourite Band every year since 2001, The Hairfarmers continue to play over 200 shows annually, providing the unforgettable soundtrack to mountain life and beyond.
